Boil water order lifted for Fort Lauderdale neighborhood

A boil water order in effect since a water pipe broke in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood Monday has been lifted, city officials said Friday.

The precautionary notice that was issued following emergency repairs on a 6-inch water main located in the area of 800 E. Broward Blvd.

The repairs have been completed and bacteriological surveys show that the water is safe to drink, city officials said in an email.

The order impacted four properties: 800 E. Broward Blvd (The Cumberland Building); 100 SE Eighth Ave.; 104 SE Eighth Ave.; and 108 SE Eighth Ave.
