Hogans Creek overflowed its banks in parts of downtown Jacksonville’s on Monday afternoon, flooding multiple streets and encroaching on parking lots as well as Confederate Park.

The creek overflowedonto East Adams Street behind Maxwell House, flooding part of a trailer storage lot nearby under the Hart Bridge Expressway.

Lafayette Street also flooded at East Forsyth Street.

Further west, parts of Confederate Street at North Market and North Newnan streets was flooded, with water encroaching on the park playground.

The National Weather Service posted a coastal flood advisory until 7 a.m. Tuesday, with water levels expected one to two feet above ground level possible during times of high tide.
