City faces stinky sewage spill to canal

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. ā€“ Authorities in Pompano Beach warned residents Friday aboutĀ a leaking sewage pipe that polluted a canal flowingĀ from Interstate 95 to Lake Santa Barbara.Ā 

According to Sandra King, the city's spokeswoman,Ā the sewage spilled into the canal systemĀ from Northwest 15th Street east to the Intracoastal Waterway.Ā 

Authorities were asking people to avoid fishing or swimming in the canal, whichĀ flows from the StranahanĀ River to Lake Santa Barbara.Ā
