A big operation in Lynn Haven that may be affecting your everyday commute.
Lynn haven is replacing all of the 1927 clay pipes and paving on 7th Street.
The pipes are located underneath the roads and officials said replacing them is needed.
The project is diverging traffic from Tennessee Avenue and Virginia Avenue.

The new pipes being put in will stop leaking issues and increase the capacity of the city’s water treatment plants.
Lynn Haven City Manager Michael White said this plan is going to improve more than just the pipes.

“We are leveraging both funds together in order to maximize the product for the citizens meaning were replacing a lot of clay pipes and water lines, and when we go through that we’ll use the surtax to fix the storm water and the pavement,” said White.

White said that to complete seventh street alone it will take a couple of months. He says although the process will be slow, the overall outcome will be beneficial to the city.
