Okaloosa County Jail without water

CRESTVIEW — Okaloosa County Jail was without water Monday following a main break underneath the facility.

Okaloosa County maintenance crews have begun to dig out the broken pipe to fix the problem, according to a press release from Okaloosa County. The break occurred under the Charlie, Echo and Delta pods. The jail incarcerates more than 700 inmates.

Jail administrators and staff have begun to distribute clean drinking water to inmates, the press release said. The jail has also instituted manual flushes for the toilets.
