Oxford residents – including those living at Lakeside Landings, Parkwood, Oxford Oaks, Grand Oaks Manner and PepperTree Village – may be noticing that their water has an unpleasant odor.
The City of Wildwood issued the order as construction of the new Oxford Water Treatment Plant is nearing completion, and the city brings the new water plant online.
This new plant has been built to meet the needs of the booming population.
“As the startup process evolves it is possible that some residual of Hydrogen Sulfide could remain in the water. Hydrogen Sulfide is unpleasant to smell, but it is harmless at the levels our customers may experience. This inconvenience will be temporary and will cease once the city has made the necessary adjustments to the biological treatment processes that are necessary to fully mitigate the hydrogen sulfide,” the city said in a statement.
