The City of Panama City Beach issued an update on water service restoration on Friday.
Bay County officials are hopeful they will be able to supply water on a reduced pressure basis from Lake Powell on the western end eastward to the general boundary of Allison Avenue from PCB Parkway and south to North Lagoon Drive and west to Joan Avenue, then south to Thomas Drive.
That is the portion of the city’s system least affected by the storm.
The city is still evaluating more impacted areas east of Allison Avenue and will begin to resupply that area as soon as possible.
Due to heavier damage to the eastern portion of the system, it could be several days before water service is restored there.
The entire county remains under a boil water notice. A 3-minute rolling boil is recommended.
The fire department requests residents turn off their hot water heaters at the breaker box to prevent the risk of a fire.
When water is restored, you may turn the breaker back to the “on” position.
